Understanding Spasms & Range of Motion Exercises

This video is a little lengthy and you may find yourself skipping through it, and that is fine. If you are paralyzed like me, you will watch every second of it because a picture to us is worth a thousand words when it comes to seeing others with paralysis do things. We want to learn all we can and there is no better source to learn from than another paralyzed person. Range of motion exercises and pressure releases so you don’t get pressure sores, are two of the most important things you can do for your long term health.

For those of you who read but are not paralyzed, you will see what my spasms are like and the range of motion exercises my husband does faithfully for me every single night so that my joints will stay loose which helps many things! I appreciate that he never complains about this and pushes me to do this, even when I dread it and get tired of it. I find that spasms puzzle me the most. When I tell my legs to move, they will not do it. When a spasm tells them to move, there is not a lot that I can do about it and they move when and where they want.

Thank you for trying to understand what disability is all about and continuing to read as I share!
